Our Mission

What We Do

When a member of the ExJAM community faces a serious medical emergency and cannot meet the cost, the Foundation steps in. We have been doing so since 2010.

Who We Are

ExJAMs Looking After ExJAMs

The Ex-Junior Airmen Humanitarian Foundation is a registered community organisation established in 2010 by alumni of the Air Force Military School (AFMS), Jos. We exist to stand beside members of the ExJAM community and their families in times of serious medical need — funded entirely by voluntary contributions from within the community.

The name carries the bond of AFMS: discipline, mutual care, and the understanding that service to one another does not end when training does.

Mission

To mobilise voluntary contributions from the ExJAM community and connect verified cases with sponsors across Nigeria and the diaspora — so that no ExJAM faces a medical crisis alone.

Vision

A community where every ExJAM and their family can count on the Foundation to stand with them — wherever they are, whatever the need.

How We Operate

Our Approach

Every programme follows the same three principles: verification, transparency, and direct disbursement.

Verified Need

Every case is reviewed by the Review Committee before it proceeds. No case is approved without documentation, verification of urgency, and assessment of cost.

Full Transparency

Every contributor receives a private acknowledgement. Financial summaries and case outcomes are reported to the Board and shared within the active membership.

Direct Disbursement

Funds are paid directly to hospitals, clinics, and service providers — never through the beneficiary. No cash passes through the patient.

What We Treat

What We Have Done

Every intervention type ExJAM has handled since 2010, with what actually happened.

  • We arranged travel and accommodation, including overseas referrals
  • We stayed in contact through post-operative recovery

  • We funded the procedure for degenerative vision cases
  • We followed up through recovery

  • We did not stop when the bill got bigger

How It Works

How We Work

Simple. Four steps. We handle the rest.

1

Patient & Family

The member or their next of kin shares the medical diagnosis, supporting records, and a treatment timeline. A sponsor who knows the patient — and is an active donor — submits the intake form on their behalf.

2

Documentation

The Review Committee assesses the submission: diagnosis, records, cost estimate, and budget limits. Independent clinical consultation is obtained where needed.

3

Decision

The Board reviews all information together — urgency, verified need, available resources, and treatment options. The sponsor is kept informed throughout.

4

Disbursement

Approved funds are paid directly to the hospital, clinic, or service provider. No cash passes through the patient. The sponsor monitors progress and receives outcome updates.
